Marine Moms Take on CP Mud Run and Quantico's Run Amuck
I have even more respect for what our Marines do. I did this in comfortable clothes, but to do this in full gear?! I wouldn't have made it a mile!
One of my highlights was high fiving the Sgt Major coming out of Lake O'Neill—he was telling me good job!
The final mud hill—Suicide Hill—I learned that I could really curse like a Marine!

In the summer of 2009, four Marine Moms competed in two "mud runs" and collectively raised over $2,800 for Marine Parents' outreach programs. Additionally, all four ladies exceeded their fundraising goals!
Both Mud Run events were challenging races, with numerous hills and obstacles, such as river crossings, 5 foot walls with mud on both sides, tunnel crawls, slippery hill climbs, numerous mud pits, and Marines with fire hoses!
Marine Parents sincerely appreciates all the hard work and dedication our participants put into these events — from the personal training each individual endured to their enthusiastic fundraising efforts. They truly made a difference!
It was the hardest thing I have ever done, other than giving birth. And like childbirth, you forget the pain and end up doing it again. Sign me up for next year!
