When my son had just finished Boot Camp, I was so proud of him and his accomplishment. I started thinking about things that I had wanted to do when I was his age. Running a marathon was one of those things So I decided that now was the time. With the kids all grown up it was my time to do some things for me. When I mentioned to a fellow MoM and Marine Parent Volunteer that is something I wanted to try, she encouraged me to join her at the Marine Corps Marathon in 2016. This will now be the 3rd year for the Marine Corp Marathon. I love the experience. Last year my daughter joined me and she finished her first Marathon. It has become somewhat of a family tradition to run certain races together. What an amazing experience to share not only with my daughter but my grand kids as well.
