Hi everyone, I'm Julie Eisenbraun from the Black Hills of South Dakota. I am excited and nervous to say I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon on October 28, 2018! What's that saying? If your goals don't scare you, then they aren't big enough? I decided to run last year's marathon and it was a decision I firmly made after watching my daughter's boyfriend graduate from MCRD last January. He's been dear part of our family for quite sometime and I think boot camp changed me almost as much as it changed him. I was in awe of the sacrifices the Recruits and Drill Instructors alike made day after day to be the men and woman they are. You see the mental and physical pressures they put on themselves challenging their bodies and minds every single day. Along the way I have had the pleasure of getting to know other Marine families and see the unity and support that is offered to one another and the selfless sacrifices our Marine Parent leaders who keep us in the know and help guide us through this crazy life. I am humbled and I am proud.
I look at this as my opportunity to show my love and respect of not just our Marine but all our Military families for the sacrifices each person makes every day. As training has begun I have loved every minute of pushing myself further physically than I ever had. This will be my first marathon, and I couldn't imagine doing this with a better group of amazing people than the Team Marine Parents.
