Hi, My name is Tracie Johns Lankford. My youngest son became a Marine in 2015. I decided to start 2021 off by running for Team Marine Parents. Marine Parents is an organization that I will always hold close to my heart. Not only do they help Marine families in so many ways, but they got me through the long 3 months my youngest son was at boot camp in 2015, and they were there for me when my oldest son passed in 2016. After my oldest son passed, I decided to start running for therapy. I completed 5 Marathons, four of those Marine Corps Marathons. Several half marathons, 10ks, and numerous 5ks. I ran my very first marathon with Team Marin Parents and couldn’t have done it without them. Through all my runs I spread suicide prevention awareness, 22 Veterans die by suicide a day and the number of civilians who die by suicide are astronomical. Please support me in running for Marine Parents as they support numerous causes for our military and their families. My son Alex serves in the United States Marine Corp to protect you because you are worth it, so please help me save just one life by “talking about” suicide prevention! They're worth it!!!
