I hate runningI always have. I couldnt run more than 100 feet without feeling like I was going to keel over! Ive always been somewhat athletic volleyball, hike, huntbut NEVER would you catch me running. My younger brother passed away in 2014. I needed something for me that I could work into my full-time mom and full-time job schedule. So, I started to run.

Since that time, I have ran many 5Ks, a 13K, and even ran with my mom, aunt, and cousin in the Kentucky Derby relay marathon. I love running. It is my me time and helps me both mentally and physically. I still play volleyball, do HIIT workouts, hunt, and just recently started taking Krav Maga classes. But running is my quiet!

I will be married 25 years this July and we have 3 boys Sam, Gabe, and Cal (the youngest). I am a geologist and work in the mining industry.

Our son Gabe has always wanted to be in the military for the sole purpose of serving his country and doing his part. He shipped out in October 2021, graduated from boot camp at MCRD, and is currently in the ITB. He has inspired all of us to do better and be better. We are all so proud to be part of this journey and his service has just brought our whole family closer together especially the brothers!

My best friend and I plan to run each virtual Marine Parents monthly race in honor of my son and his fellow Marines. So far, I have only signed up for the 5Ks, but by the end of the year, I am hoping to work up to the 10K with a good time! Thank you for this opportunity to do my part and raise money for an amazing organization!
