My son is currently a recruit with Echo company. (Graduation March 11)
He wasn't a very physical kid, but really worked hard to get into shape enough that he could pass his IST and become a United States Marine.
With the pandemic, I've become sedentary and have for sure been in a slump.
I was thinking of his motivation and dedication and decided to get up and get moving. I'm slow and out of shape, but with the same kind of hard work and dedication that my son has, I can improve.

My first 5K of the year is in the books. After talking myself out of doing it for over a week I forced myself to get on the elliptical and get it done. My time was slower than I'd like but it's a good starting point to build from.

I walked with my USMC MOMS of TN Group. It was cold but a great day to get together & walk for a good cause!

My husband, a USMC veteran, accompanied me on this months event. I am finding these 10ks are helping me push myself along with showing awareness.

I walked with a group of MoMs from Middle TN. It was awesome!

I have learned that I am not a cold-weather walker! I wouldn't have made a very good Marine; I'll leave that to the professionals! I hadn't walked outside for two weeks and finally got a nicer weather day. Walk I did! I'm thrilled to add another event to my repertoire! Thanks for these virtual runs! It keeps me motivated. Headed to my first ever half-Marathon in July.

Hello Everyone!!! I decided to do my event on the bike this time and I loved it!! I want to support all of our military both active duty and Veterans. God Bless

My inspiration and hero is my son who is currently at Parris Island. By running I am showing support for veteran patients.

I’m running for my Dad, Mom and now my son. Dad and Mom both Army Veterans. Dad diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer in 2008 has undergone a plethora of medical events. The staff and medical personnel at the Veterans hospitals that have treated him have saved his life more than once. Now my son is in the Marines and I will always have reasons to support our Veterans and personnel that are there to take care of our loved ones.

Supporting Veteran Patients everywhere. My grandpa was a WWII vet and had a very tough time when he came home. ❤️
My time is slow as I am working on conditioning with my heart rate zones! ☺️

A very tough run for me. Im on the tail end of a 3 wk sinus infection so haven't been running. Son is on D so figured I needed to run it anyway, as he is going outside his comfort zone so this is the least I can do. It can only get better!

Proud mom to Rct Westphal, finding ways to support and encourage her from afar while also making time go as fast as possible.
