This was my 1st virtual run. My inspiration is for both of my kids. My son is currently serving and has pushed me to do the unthinkable. I see he is tired after training but doesn't give up. My daughter has always been there to tell me everything will be ok and to keep going. She's a health care worker and throughout the pandemic has been amazing to her patients. I am one proud MoM. This was for both of them. I walked a little over a 5k, and it felt amazing. I look forward to doing another virtual event.

Shannon Perez was my motivation, she’s a great Marine parent, always inspiring others.

My son is currently a recruit and I am working on getting in shape. I told him I would be doing every race in support of his hard work. We will both come out stronger. I am so proud of him!!

I run for my amazing daughter, a Lance Corporal. She motivates me every day by facing challenges head-on to pursue a career at USMC.

3/21/2021
I started to complete 2 miles. I was inspired by my son and his determination I just kept going, so I overshot 2miles and then had to walk back.
3/21/2021
Walked with my daughter to honor all of the Women in the Military (especially Female Marines!!) Of course, all that we do is to support our son, Lance Corporal Receveur.
3/19/2021
This was my first event back after losing the majority of my vision. Thankfully my vision loss is only temporary! Completing this event reminded me of the challenges that our Marines face and overcome every day. This walk is for my hero, my son, my Marine and for all of his brother and sister Marines, past, present and future! Can't wait for the next one!
3/21/2021
I rode my bike for this event so that I could go on the path that my brother and I used to ride our bikes on together. I did this event for my big brother and for the women Marines to celebrate and honor them.
3/21/2021
We walked for numerous people.. the strong Marine women who have and are serving. Our past Marine who served and who recently recovered from two major back surgeries (pictured) and our other Marine (son) who is currently serving.
3/22/2021
For my son and all Marines who have and are serving. Last month I had a minor injury during my walk. So for those Marines who suffer through and keep going.
3/20/2021
Finished my event at the Cliff Walk in Newport this month. Definitely did not track the time.
3/19/2021
This is such a great way to support all of our military - past, present, and future - who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. I run in honor of my Marine son who I am so proud of and miss so much.
3/21/2021
My husband is currently on his journey to becoming a Marine! Before he left I set 3 goals for myself to finish by the time he completed basic training in May. This was one of them. He is always my biggest supporter and inspiration. Thank you MarineParents!
3/20/2021
I draw inspiration from my family daily. However, I wanted to honor my Marine. I have cervical dystonia, a neurological disorder which causes the excessive involuntarily contractions of my neck muscles, which makes it difficult to walk. By completing this virtual run, I am fearless as he is--my Marine. Thank you to my family for their love and support in this endeavor. I hope to participate in more virtual runs.
3/21/2021
This is the most I've ever done on the elliptical and I've lost over 25 pounds since the January event. I am over the top proud of myself and so thankful that I've got this challenge each month from Marine Parents. It's really motivating. I'm a strong woman, and I was proud to participate in honor of strong women like Rosie the Riveter and in honor of all women in the month of March. It was an incredibly meaningful event for me this month!!
3/21/2021
I did this run for my AMAZING daughter, Jennifer! Her strength and ability to see the world through a positive lens is commendable. I love you, My Love, ALWAYS and FOREVER...no matter what! 😘 We’ll be here when you’re ready! ❤️
3/21/2021
This is my third virtual event with Marine Parents. I did this one for my son who is currently on deployment.
3/21/2021
My husband joined me because we are walking for our Marine son in the Commandants Own! 🥰
3/21/2021
My nephew-in-law is in bootcamp in California, and my wife’s family participated in this event in support of him! We are so proud of him!
3/21/2021
We rode today in support of my nephew Jordan, who is currently at Boot Camp in California. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone during my ride, and remembered every time that it got hard, that it was nothing compared to my nephew's training! I finished my 10K on the bike at 19 minutes and 40 seconds!
3/21/2021
My inspiration/hero is my Recruit.
He is with Fox 2126 ❤️
My personal goal is to complete 48 mi. before he starts the crucible, in his honor.
4/21/2021
My inspiration is my Marine. I walk the route he would run when preparing for boot camp. He ran it with a 50lb pack on his back and barely broke a sweat. I’m sore from walking it. He is my hero.
3/21/2021
I run for my Bonus son Marine! We are so proud and can't see our Marine so I run in his honor!
3/21/2021
I pledged to do these events while my son is training. He just finished Phase 1 at MCRD SD! I rode in his honor to support his journey and did a ride he loves. Oohrah to my recruit!! ♥️💛

Rode my bike in honor of my son who is at boot camp in SD.
3/21/2021
First 5k of the year for me and it was rough! I chose a hard course of steep hills on a day with 40 mph winds on purpose. My Marine recruit is my inspiration. When I wanted to give up and my body wanted to give out, I used my son as my focus point to keep going.
3/21/2021
Beautiful day in Indianapolis to support our Marines. Thanks Rosie for getting me out there!
3/20/2021
My son and and my daughter-in-law entered me into this race to celebrate a special birthday, and to honor their son, Rory, my grandson's, promotion to SGT, USMC!
3/20/2021
I am inspired by the courage, strength, and dedication of our Marines and their families - huge shoutout to my Marine nephew!
3/21/2021
My inspiration is for those that can’t...I run for them and for my 2 Marines!

3/20/2021
I told my son as he was leaving for boot camp that I would do a "run" in his honor. I had been on bed rest for over a year and waiting for anther procedure to be done in my back. We both joked it was virtual so I could watch someone do it! I had another recruit mom encourage me to try it! I did it and surprised myself and my new Marine!! Thanks for the encouragement Becky!!! My Marine was shocked and proud!! This is just the first step for me to get back into physical activities!!
3/20/2021
Today I ran in honor of all the strong women who forged the way for me to go to college, to vote, to commission in the military, and to do whatever else my heart desires!!!! Special shout out to my grandmother who raised 9 children, mostly alone, while her husband served in the US Navy and who died when her youngest was only three months old. She’s my real life hero!

3/20/2021
Running to support my recruit and pushing myself to be more active.
3/20/2021
I joined and participated in this month’s 5k for a few reasons. For one, the theme Rosie the Riveter to me, represents rolling up my sleeves and supporting our service members in any way that I can. Contributing to a non-profit organization is just a small way that I can help participate in helping someone. My second reason, staying mentally strong while my son is currently in Bootcamp. Having this goal to work up to and look forward to has helped me cope while missing my recruit. And finally, this virtual event brought my family and me together through this pandemic. We all either walked, ran, or cycled together, from all distances, and it offered the opportunity to feel connected. My son and I did a 5k back in November together, knowing that he was getting ready for Bootcamp. He was my cheerleader and led me along the whole way. Today, as I did the 5k, his words, and his smile were with me and inspired me the whole time. Thank you for offering these virtual events, my family and I enjoyed it so much that we will definitely do this again!

My son, my Marine, my hero. I run these every month for him. 3rd run for the year with lots more to come. I love doing these every month with my other two Marine Mommas I met online. Love y'all ladies. 💪❤🤍💙🇺🇸🦅🌎⚓
3/20/2021
All those who serve, and their parents and loved ones, were my inspiration for this run.
3/20/2021
I started doing these because of my son. He inspires me each and every day! OOHRAH!
3/20/2022
My inspiration is my daughter who is currently a premed major about to spend the summer working as a research fellow for a national cancer institute. Her dedication to her studies and determination to make a difference in others’ lives brings joy to my days. I’m so proud of her.
3/20/2021
I was inspired by my brother, who is currently on his journey of becoming a Marine. His resiliency and strength during Boot Camp has motivated me to want to push myself and to participate in this event to show my support for him.
3/20/2020
Although we are all in different places, my entire family (parents, siblings, nephews) participated in this event to support my nephew Jordan who is currently in boot camp at MCRD San Diego. Amazing feeling!
3/20/2021
3rd race this year. Son has been home for 20 days getting ready to head to his PDS. This is the least I can do for the Marines who are serving for us! Thanking all who are serving and who have served!
3/20/2021
Supporting my step-son recruit in Charlie Company.
3/19/2021
I did my run today to support all the amazing women that paved the way for other women. Rosie is so inspirational. And I try everyday to be a strong, powerful woman and teach my 3 daughters to be the same!
3/19/2021
This 5K is dedicated to My Son, My Marine, My Hero And to All Veterans !
3/19/2021
Quite a few things raced through my mind this morning on this run. There have been a number of strong women in my life who made me stop and think, " Wow! I want to be like her." They've modeled strength and determination. I was raised and loved by one of them! I guess what continued to run through my mind were the current female recruits of Lima Company in San Diego. I'm so impressed with female Marines! OohRah to all of the brave women in the military and in the civilian world who truly make the world go round. Thank you MarineParents for a kick ass virtual experience just like Rosie!
3/19/2021
My wife and I have a son and four daughters, our third is Jordan and he is currently doing basic at Camp Pendleton.
Jordan is a fine young man as most joining the Corps are and we know he will grow and contribute as a fine Marine!
3/19/2021
Alicia and I had a blast hiking the Matson Hill trail!
3/19/2021
I have set my own goal to be a better me in 2021!!
3/19/2021
Rosie could, both my momma and mother-in-law could! An amazing generation of women that stepped up and kept climbing paving the way for generations to come!
