This month 8 miles I was inspired by all the Marines who have served and have lost their lives while serving. Most inspired by my husband, son, and brother who have all served. They inspired me to follow my running goals. During this month's event, I remembered PFC Giannattasio who lost his life while serving in the USMC. He continues to inspire me and I feel he is running with me often. #RIPNeverForget

I did this event for our two boys in the military, one a Marine and the other a National Guard soldier. We invited friends and family over to join us in a walk/run or bike ride, some did virtually in their own town and then socializing together afterwards. It Was a fun day! We plan to do this every year in May to show our support for the military. Proud to be a military family!

I was humbled as I thought about those who laid down their life for me and for you during my run. Who has that type of love of country and courage? Our loved ones who are part of the 1% who have what it takes to be a Marine. May I never take for granted their sacrifices and also the selflessness of my Marine who signed his name on the dotted line to defend her at all costs. OohRah and Semper Fi...

I am running for my son who landed on the yellow footprints at Parris Island on May 24. When I got tired, I thought of Ben and how he and his fellow recruits will have to push through - beyond anything they have ever imagined during boot, and what I was doing was nothing in comparison. My inspiration is all our Heroes who have chosen the path of US Marine or other branches of the US Military and how each and every one of them push through so selflessly. I am eternally grateful to them all.
