My new Marine was my inspiration to run my very first half-marathon! I was running while he was on his 9-mile hike back at the end of the Crucible, and getting his Eagle, Globe and Anchor. I am so very proud of him, and honored to be a MoM ❤🦅🌎⚓

My husband Danny and I chose to walk for Dale Larson. Danny is a wounded warrior and Paige volunteered as part of the Warrior Support Team West with Dale from 2015 until his passing. He and his wife Lori have become a supportive and caring part of our lives since we met them. We miss Dale very much and will always appreciate the time we had with him. We chose not to time our walk, as we wanted to live in the moment.

I had the honor to not only meet Dale, but to work with him and see the wonderful things he brought to the world and to MarineParents.com. My husband and I had planned to run the half marathon, but I ended up with strep throat twice in just over a month. With training on hold, we felt we couldn't let Dale down and decided to run a 5k in his honor. Next year we'll make sure we finish the full half for him!

I ran a 5K with my wife. We met Dale a few years ago through Marine Parents when he was serving meals at Balboa Naval Medical Center. His passion was inspiring and I knew if I did any virtual event it would have to be this one. Our original plan was to train for the half-marathon but some unforeseen circumstances made that difficult to accomplish. However, we already have our training goal for next year.

I believe Mr Larson was quoted as saying he only ran half marathons so people would only think he was half crazy. Well, regardless of your ‘running sanity’ Dale, you left a legacy worth honoring and remembering!! Ooh-Rah to you Dale! :-)

I have worked at MarineParents.com for 5 years now and although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Dale Larson, I have seen behind the scenes all of his good works and how dedicated to helping others he was. This was an honor to complete & my husband by my side made it even better.

I ran my first Mini (Indy 500 Mini) when I turned 50 two years ago. My second mini - which I walked - was yesterday! My motivation is my Marine son and ALL the volunteers. Thanks for the challenge Dale and all you did for our Marines.

I am participating in several 10K’s and 1/2 marathons as well as walking daily, Dale’s challenge is the first 10k I have participated in 12 years due to an injury I sustained while on active duty which prevented me from running anymore, I am not able to run however I am walking this and all future ones. I’ve completed 13.1 miles on 7/18/21 as a personal goal, it took 4 hours 10 minutes 9 seconds. I felt on top of the world after completing both the 13.1 and 10K. Since I started training in May 2021 I have lost 20 lbs and walked 398 miles. I am doing this for myself and to support my recruit and his battalion! Oooh rah!!!

I wasn’t sure I was ready for this event, but the opportunity presented itself, so I took it. The rain held off almost completely. Mid 60’s temp with complete cloud cover & a small breeze. I did the miles on my own. It ended up being a near perfect run this time around. No big obstacles to overcome. My energy lasted until the end. I guess walking several miles in the corn fields each day these last 2 weeks helped instead of hurt my training!
